AURA SKYPOOL, Dubai, UAE – Scenic Swimming 200 Metres Above Ground

When planning my holiday in Dubai, one of the things I definitely wanted to do was visit an observation deck. We had already been up the Burj Khalifa, so I wanted to try something different and more interesting. The Dubai Eye Ferris wheel was closed during our visit due to the pandemic, so I considered visiting a high-altitude swimming pool.

And then, by chance, I read about the Aura Skypool Lounge in the Dubai chat rooms, which is located on Palm Jumeirah Island in the Palm Tower skyscraper. It is a swimming pool 200 metres above the ground where you can swim and sunbathe. I really wanted to visit it; the photos are gorgeous, and the view is amazing.

After reading a review on this website that tickets must be purchased in advance, I went to the official Aura website a month before my trip. I’ll say right away that children are not allowed here.

This was exactly the place we needed. We came to the UAE without children.

Many people ask if it was scary.

No. There is always a safety barrier behind the pool that prevents you from accidentally falling to the ground. We swam to our hearts’ content, as that was mainly what we did there. Our sun loungers were positioned so that they were in the shade the whole time.

In fact, most of the sun loungers are in the shade. You can only sunbathe in the water. After relaxing for the allotted time until 2 p.m., we called a member of staff and asked for the bill. We paid in cash for the stay of two people, 250 dirhams each, and for drinks.

We got changed and said goodbye to the magnificent view from above. I’m unlikely to come back here, it’s an interesting place, but there’s a lot more to see in the UAE. If you haven’t been here and are interested in this kind of holiday, I recommend it.
