Hello everyone who stopped by to read this review! Today I want to share my impressions of the Aura Skypool infinity pool in Dubai.
General information
Aura Skypool is a stunning infinity pool located 200 metres above the ground on the 50th floor of The Palm Tower (Palm Jumeirah). Palm Jumeirah). It is the world’s first and highest 360-degree pool with panoramic views.
How we got there
Since we chose the morning programme, the only way to get to the pool was by taxi. We returned in the afternoon by monorail from Nakheel Monorail Station.
Our programme, type of ticket, ticket prices
Our holiday in Dubai was in August, and I decided that the best option would be an early visit to the pool – the ‘Sunrise pool experience’ from 6:00 to 9:00. At this time of day, it is not too hot.
I spent a long time looking at the views on the website, and in the end, I chose ‘Marina View’. The cost of a sun lounger for two in the first row was $139. We decided to play it safe and buy tickets online almost a month before the trip, as we heard that there could be difficulties with booking closer to the date. We really wanted to get the seats we had planned.
Was the choice of programme and view a good one? My thoughts and advice
Now let’s move on to my impressions of the choice of programme and view. First of all, I really liked the ‘Sunrise’ programme. During the entire three hours, it wasn’t just that it wasn’t hot, it was actually cool! And this was despite the intense heat in Dubai in the summer. There is a decent breeze on the 50th floor, so I would recommend bringing a jacket so you don’t get cold at the beginning! We cooled off nicely that day, which was something we needed during our entire holiday.
In addition, this programme covers, in my opinion, the most magical and beautiful moments: the sun is just beginning to rise, the skyscrapers are shrouded in morning mist. Gradually, the picture becomes bright and contrasting, with golden light spreading everywhere.
Aura Skypool tickets
I found the Marina View to be the quietest and most peaceful. If you like a secluded atmosphere, you will love this option. There were more visitors on the Palm View and Burj Al Arab View sides. Either way, each location has its own charm. For 3 hours, you can swim around the entire pool and enjoy all four views. This leads to some practical advice: if you want to save a little money and not miss out on anything, don’t focus on the first row. Most of the time, your things will be on the sun loungers! Let’s go through the views:
Atmosphere
What I liked most about this pool was the atmosphere: light, free, without pretension. It was like a big party of young girls and guys from different countries who were just enjoying the moment, smiling and taking lots of photos for their social media.
The only thing that left a bad impression was the attitude of the staff. From the very beginning, we were assigned an assistant waiter who pushed us to buy food and drinks at the establishment. The prices did not inspire us. When I took a bottle of water out of my bag at one point, he immediately rushed over and told me to put it away. And, of course, he persistently offered us the menu again. I suspect that every visitor is being watched because of some flower pot: what if someone decides to quench their thirst? That would be unacceptable!
The best moment for a photo shoot
I really wanted to bring home some content, so I studied references on the internet in advance. And I can say one thing: I managed to take good pictures in the first few minutes. While people were just entering the pool and settling on their sun loungers, I hurried to the side with a view of Atlantis to pose. At that moment, there was no one in the water yet, and everyone was busy at their places, so I could lie down on the edge of the pool and stretch my arms gracefully above my head. Literally 10 minutes later, the pool was already full of people, the atmosphere became lively and remained so until the very end. In such an environment, not everyone would dare to have a photo shoot.
By the way, we arrived at the pool very early and had to wait downstairs (they wouldn’t let us in). We were the first to enter the lift just 15 minutes before our time, at 5:45.
Gifts
A gift for two was waiting for us on the sun lounger – a branded shopping bag, a cosmetics bag and a fan.
Aura Skypool
All these items are of good quality, and it was very nice to take them home with us.
Additional options
I read stories of people who forgot their swimsuits at home and bought them on the spot. Yes, indeed, here you can get anything you want for your money. But such ‘souvenirs’ are not cheap.
I will leave a few more photos of the restroom, which is definitely worth visiting before leaving – to apply Acqua di Parma hand cream…
Summing up
The Aura pool is a very atmospheric, stylish space where you can not only see the city panorama, but also swim in pleasant cool water, relax and have real fun! I will definitely come back here when I am in Dubai again.
